Canterbury of New Zealand isn't just all about rugby. We also have a unique nautical history that goes back to the 1960's. The Canterbury of New Zealand rugby jersey became a natural choice for yachties because it was comfortable enough for easy action, heavy enough to protect against wind and spray, yet light enough to fit under wet weather gear.
In 2021, CCC presents its throwback nautical styles from the 1990's when the yacht racing world was at its peak and collar's were flipped against the wind around the world. The range features the original trims and embellishments that transformed this classic sailing range to iconic vintage wear.
Established in 1904 in the province of Canterbury by three English expats, Canterbury started out making tough woolen garments for the challenging New Zealand weather. And they were so good at it that they were asked to make uniforms in World War I for the Australian and New Zealand armies. Later, Canterbury designed an on-field kit for the All Blacks rugby team and the rest, as they say, is history.
Today, Canterbury is a household name on either side of the Tasman and we produce a wide range of clothing including performance wear, compression wear, on-field apparel, supporters wear and classic and lifestyle seasonal ranges. And the legendary CCC logo can be seen everywhere active people are; on the field, in the stands, at the track and in the gym.
